Important Notice!
If you are using a 64-bit version of Windows
Please Follow these Instructions!!!!

  • If you are Running a 64-bit version of your Browser, test your Java Installation by clicking here. Make sure that your version of Java is ALSO 64-bit.
  • If you do not have a 64-bit version of Java installed, you should download and install the 64-bit Java Runtime before continuing.
  • After installing a 64-bit version of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) you should start the Sun SPOT SDK installation process, but do not complete the configuration check at this time.
  • Quit the Sun SPOT Manager Installation program, select the shortcut on your desktop, and perform the following steps:
    • Right-click on the Shortcut for the Sun SPOT Manager Application
    • Select 'Properties' from the pop-up menu
    • Select the 'Compatibility' Tab
    • Make sure that "Run this program as an administrator" is selected
  • Start the Sun SPOT Manager and proceed with the installation.
NOTE: You must restart Windows after installation and before beginning to use your Sun SPOT SDK Software
The Sun SPOT Manager tool is a Java WebStart Application for installing and managing your Sun SPOT Software Development Kit (SDK).

  5. Start the Sun SPOT Manager and proceed with the installation.

Click the Sun SPOT icon to download the Sun SPOT Manager Application.

Click to install

  1. If you have never installed a Sun SPOT SDK before, you should read the Getting Started documentation before continuing.
  2. Running the Sun SPOT Manager Java WebStart application will prompt you to accept the Sun Microsystems Digital Certificate, which you must do in order to continue.
  3. You will be prompted to create a Desktop Application, which you should do.
  4. For the complete installation instructions, please thoroughly read through the Getting Started documentation.
